History of Bonsai

Bonsai began in China during the Han dynasty in the year 200B.C.

I've heard that the bonsai plant has the power to bring luck and peace  want to know more of the history of this plant

This is kind of funny, I'm doing a report on bonsai as well, but it's kind of too late for me to get info from you, but if you're still looking for the history try these two books. (They have conflicting stories) 
"Chinese Peijing" by Hu Yunhua, and "Bonsai Survival Manual" by Colin Lewis. Good Luck!!
